Instructions to make chicken tikka masala:

  1. Maarinate chicken pieces with ginger garlic paste, kashmir red chilli paste, salt, turmeric powder, yogurt, garam masala powder, lemon juice, cumin powder and mix well. Let them rest for 1-2 hours.
  2. After 2 hrs Heat oil in a pan shallow fry) u can grill also ) the chicken pieces and cook for 3-4 minutes on high heat & keep aside.
  3. FOR GRAVY : Heat oil in a pan add all the whole spices(cinnamon, cardamon cloves bay leaf cumin seeds.)saute it.
  4. To this add onions saute it well till they are lightly brown in colour.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste tomato puree (blend 2-3 tomatoes)green chillies & saute it well till the oil separates.
  6. To this add cashew paste,kasoorimeti, kashmiri chillypowder, turmeric,salt,tomato ketchup & mix well till it gets a creamy consistency.
  7. At last add the fried chicken peices & mixwell & for more gravy add little water &cover the lid for 5min in a low flame.
  8. Finally top up with chopped coriander & fresh cream (optional)&enjoy with naan or chappatti !
