The ingredients needed to make Falafel:

  1. Make ready 150 gms chickpeas
  2. Take 5 cloves garlic
  3. Get 1 onion
  4. Take 1 green chilli
  5. Prepare 1 handful parsley/coriander leaves
  6. Take 1 tsp coriander powder
  7. Make ready 1 tsp cumin powder
  8. Get 3/4 tsp salt
  9. Get 4 cups oil for deep frying

Steps to make Falafel:

  1. Soak chickpeas overnight. Next morning wash the chickpeas and grind coarsely in the food processor or grinder. Take out in a bowl
  2. Grind the onion, garlic, chilli and parsley in the food processor/mini chopper and add to the ground chickpeas. Then add salt, chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder. Mix well with soft hands
  3. Then heat oil in a kadhai. Let it heat completely and then lower the flame. Make small tikkis with the falafel mix and add to the heated oil. Fry till both sides are nice golden in colour. Serve sausage with pita bread or simply homemade rotis, salad and Yoghurt dip. I have made small chapatis for serving.
