To begin with this recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can have macaroni and cheese using 7 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Macaroni and Cheese:

  1. Get 1/2 lb Elbow noodles
  2. Get 4 oz Sour cream
  3. Get 1/2 cup Milk
  4. Get 1 Sugar (1/8 cup)
  5. Get 1/2 Egg, beaten
  6. Prepare 8 oz Shredded cheddar cheese
  7. Prepare 8 oz Velveeta cheese (1/2 small block)

Steps to make Macaroni and Cheese:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook noodles according to box instructions. Drain.
  3. As noodles cook, cut velveeta cheese into small (1/2 in.) chunks. Then mix egg, milk, and sugar together in small bowl until well blended. Set everything aside.
  4. Mix sour cream evenly with drained noodles in large bowl. Cover bottom of 8x8 glass dish with thin layer of noodles.
  5. Stir in velveeta chunks with remaining noodles in large bowl until semi-melted.
  6. Layer 1/3 shredded cheddar cheese over noodles in glass dish. Then pour 1/3 milk mixture evenly over noodles and cheese.
  7. Add another layer of noodles to dish, cover with 1/3 shredded cheddar cheese, and pour 1/3 milk mixture evenly over layers.
  8. Repeat step 7 with remaining ingredients.
  9. Cook dish in oven for 40-50 mins until cheese is bubbling and edges start to brown.
