To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can have ummali using 6 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Ummali:

  1. Make ready 2 ali Rotis
  2. Take 1 litre milk
  3. Get 200 gms Milkmaid or any condensed milk
  4. Take 1-2 tbsps Ghee
  5. Prepare 1-2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  6. Make ready Handful mixed nuts (almond, pistachio, cashew)

Instructions to make Ummali:

  1. Make the ali into small pieces and stir fry/ roast with little ghee in a Kadai with chopped mixed nuts and sprinkled cinnamon powder.
  2. Boil full-fat milk, reduce it by 1/4 and add condensed milk & cinnamon powder too (don’t put too much) cook a little more for 5 minutes.
  3. So and then add the ghee roasted ali and nuts and cook for more 5-10 minutes & pour it in a serving bowl.
  4. The ali roti absorbs most of the milk and becomes thick and dry consistency so use enough milk (just like the Sheer Khurma we make). Garnish with more Pistachio, almond etc (optional). It’s best when served warm ☺️😋
