- Add a pinch of salt. When the vegetables are tender and lightly browned, add the tomatoes. When the tomatoes break down, pour in .
- Add the bay leaf and simmer until thickened. Give it time to simmer for the flavors to soak in. Add salt and pepper to taste and it is ready.
